Books on art & creativity

Art is one of my happy places. To me, artistic expression is the language of freedom and possibility, and it's a space that inspires me and a place that I always go back to. Life is art, living is art. There is beauty everywhere.

We use creativity everyday and beyond the artistic expression, living creatively is a state of mind that we use to navigate our everyday lives.

Here are some books that I’ve read over the years that explore the universal theme of art and creativity. Hope you find them inspiring! Happy reading:

  • The Creative Act: A Way of Being, Rick Rubin
  • Creativity: The psychology of discovery and invention, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
  • The war of art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles, Steven Pressfield
  • The courage to create, Royo May
  • Free Play, Improvisation in Life and Art, Stephen Nachmanovitch
  • Art Lessons: Meditations on the Creative Life, Deborah J. Haynes
  • Steal like an artist, Austin Kleon
  • Ignore everybody: And 39 Other Keys to Creativity, Hugh McLeod

Share the many titles I've missed!
